The Council is a first-in-the-nation, public-private partnership. Businesses pledge to take concrete, measurable steps to eliminate the wage gap in their company.
The BWWC seeks a summer intern to assist with the following
• Program Management: One of the main functions of this internship will be program management of the 100% Talent Compact, including creating promotional materials, prepping for and assisting with major events, and conducting background research.
• Recruitment: Compact recruitment is heavily focused in the first quarter of the year, so the intern will assist with recruiting companies from underrepresented industries and communities to compile a representative sample. The intern will evaluate which major companies or organizations have not been contacted and will help formulate an outreach strategy.
• Marketing/Social Media: Part of the internship will consist of connecting and engaging with Compact signers via marketing of events, assisting with social media, and helping with press relations as needed.
The office is located at the Boston University Hariri Institute (111 Cummington Mall Boston, MA 02215), though the internship may include local travel, and occasionally working remotely is fine. The internship will take place during the summer 2018 (flexible start and end dates) for 10-15 hours/week.
The BWWC is looking for a political science, women’s and gender studies, or business student dedicated to gender equality. Prior experience in local or state government or politics is a plus, as is familiarity with Constant Contact, Adobe Photoshop, STATA, and SPSS.
